To provide methods for collecting zinc collection and detoxifying exhaust gases at low cost.
Organic matter containing calcium such as miscellaneous general refuse, sewage sludge, and industrial waste is added to a carbonization unit 1 such as a rotary kiln for heating at high temperature. Exhaust gases burned in combustion equipment 2 and exhaust gases generated from an incineration facility or a non-utility generation facility, and the like are further supplied to the carbonization unit 1. The organic matter is burned through baking at 300 to 700°C, so as to obtain carbide. The carbide obtained in the carbonization unit 1 is supplied to a carbonation unit 4 such as a rotary kiln for heating at high temperature. Exhaust gases burned in the combustion equipment 2 and exhaust gases generated from an incineration facility or a non-utility generation facility, that is, gases containing carbon dioxide are further supplied. The carbide obtained in the carbonization unit 1 was heated at 700 to 1,000°C while supplying gases containing carbon dioxide to the carbide. Thus, the carbonated carbide that contains calcium carbonate having an alkali function and carbon with adsorption capability is produced.
