To register a correct address as the address of an e-mail transmitted by a network image processor.

When a user wants to transmit information such as a scanned image from the network image processor to his/her own e-mail address, the user transmits a registration request mail from his/her own e-mail address to the network image processor. The network image processor registers, upon receipt of the registration request mail (S11), an address shown in the sender column of the header of this mail to a transmitting destination list (S5). The user can correctly transmit the scanned image to himself/herself by selecting, at the time of transmitting the scanned image, his/her address from transmitting destination addresses contained in the transmitting destination list.
