To provide a method for manufacturing a silver ion-exchange zeolite suitable to be used for an adsorbent capable of efficiently removing sulfur compounds from a hydrocarbon fuel or a dimethyl ether fuel to a low content even at room temperature, and an absorbent containing the silver ion-exchange zeolite for removing sulfur compounds, and further a method for effectively manufacturing hydrogen capable of being used for a fuel cell from a hydrocarbon fuel or a dimethyl ether fuel desulfurized by using the adsorbent, and a fuel cell system using the hydrogen.
The method for manufacturing a silver ion-exchange zeolite comprises subjecting a solution containing silver amine complex ions to silver ion-exchange at pH 4-9 to cause zeolite to carry the silver. The adsorbent for removing sulfur compounds contains the silver ion-exchange zeolite. The method for manufacturing hydrogen capable of being used for a fuel cell from a hydrocarbon fuel or a dimethyl ether fuel uses the adsorbent for desulfurizing. The fuel cell system uses the hydrogen.
