To provide a phosphorescent fishing line emitting light by external stimulation such as light or the like, having afterglow luminance characteristics for extraordinarily long hours after removing the light and expressing very excellent visibility in night fishing, while facilitating visual confirmation of a fine motion of the fishing line in the axial direction of the fiber, and excellent in strength and durability.

The phosphorescent fishing line includes a stranded body 10 consisting of a plurality of yarns of a phosphorescent synthetic fibers 11 and a non-phosphorescent synthetic fibers 12. In the fishing line, the phosphorescent synthetic fibers 11 and the non-phosphorescent synthetic fibers 12 are alternately positioned on a surface layer part in the axial direction of the stranded body 10.
