Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erroneous detection of molten metal leak temporarily occurring during a transition period from a heat-retaining operation to a heating operation by improving a method for cooling a channel-type induction heating apparatus.SOLUTION: A cooling method is used for cooling the induction heating apparatus 11, in which a water cooling pipe is installed to an outer case 17 that covers the refractories 18 and 19 constituting the passage 13 of a molten metal and bushing 20, and molten metal leak detection antennas 25 are embedded in the refractories 18 and 19. The temperature of the cooling water flowing through the water cooling pipe is controlled to be 40°C or more at the respective inlets of the outer case 17 and the bushing 20, and to be below 100°C at the respective outlets of the outer case 17 and the bushing 20.
