Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which achieves a restart operation of a motor in an optimum way while preventing thermal destruction of a power semiconductor element for motor drive even when the motor is brought into a lock state, and which completes an operation motion efficiently.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a motor 24 driven by an inverter circuit 57 and for rotating a rotary drum 20 for accommodating laundry and an agitation blade; a current detection part 46 for detecting a current of the motor 24 by shunt resistances 62a-62c; and an overcurrent detection part 47 for detecting an overcurrent of the motor 24. When the overcurrent detection part 47 detects the overcurrent of the motor 24 by an absolute value of the current in the negative direction flowing toward the shunt resistances 62a-62c from the ground detected by the current detection part 46, the operation of the motor 24 is changed. Thereby, even when the motor is brought into a lock state, a restart operation of the motor can be achieved in the optimum way while preventing thermal destruction of a power semiconductor element for motor drive.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
