PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal decomposition method of an organic substance capable of enhancing yield of a gaseous substance when performing thermal decomposition of an organic substance for acquiring a thermal decomposition product.SOLUTION: When a thermal decomposition is performed by bringing an organic substance into contact with a mixed gas (g) containing at least hydrogen and carbon dioxide in a reactor A, at least a part of an oily substance out of the thermal decomposition product of the organic substance taken out from the reactor A, is impregnated to an oil content absorbent formed of a solid matter for absorbing the same, the oily substance is absorbed to the oil content absorbent, and in the state, the oily substance is recycled to the reactor A. When the oily substance taken out from the reactor A is recycled to the reactor A, a chain structure of a carbon is cut and the oily substance is volatilized before reducing a molecular wight, however, by recycling the same to the reactor A in a state of being absorbed to the oil content absorbent, a retention time in the reactor A becomes longer, and before volatilization, a chain structure of carbon is cut and the substance becomes a gaseous substance, therefore yield of the gaseous substance can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
