Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery state estimation device with which it is possible to accurately estimate the replacement time of a performance degraded battery irrespective of the cause of degradation.SOLUTION: In a BCIA 9, a measurement unit 92 measures the voltage V, current I, and temperature T of a battery 5. A lowest voltage detection unit 98 detects a lowest voltage Vst from the time series of battery voltages V measured by the measurement unit 92 during the cranking of an engine. In a CPU 8, a cumulative use unit 88 calculates the cumulative use in years of the battery 5. A replacement criterion threshold determination unit 89 determines a replacement criterion threshold Vst_th on the basis of the lowest voltage Vst and a use period. The replacement criterion threshold Vst_th is higher in correspondence to an increase in the use period of the battery. A replacement time determination unit 90 determines that the battery be replaced when the lowest voltage Vst falls below the replacement criterion threshold Vst_th.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 21
