Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate necessity of re-assembling (decomposing) a valve box 1 when packings 4, 10 are reset or replaced with new one.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a valve box structure comprising a valve box 1 that can be divided at a splitting plane 11 extending along an axial direction (a) of a flow passage S; a packing groove 12 for cutoff of a split plane; flanges 7a at both sides in a flow passage direction of the valve box; a packing groove 3 for cutoff at a connecting part with a pipe P at an entire circumference of the surfaces of both flanges; a packing 4 for cutoff at the connecting part fitted to the groove 3; and a packing 10 for cutoff at the connecting part fitted to the packing groove 12 for cutoff. The side surface of the packing 4 and both end surfaces of the packing 10 are abutted with a pressure and an abutting part 10a of the packing 10 is well fitted to the groove 12. This well-fitting does not show any deformation in the groove 12 of the abutting part of the packing 10 to cause its cutoff to become positive. If the cutoff is carried out at both packings 4, 10 through abutment, it becomes possible to perform a resetting or replacement by removing only an improper packing such as one for resetting, so that its workability can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
