Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hierarchical encoder suitable for a signal transmission system capable of receiving signals by both an existing receiver and a receiver of a new transmission system, in shifting a transmission system.SOLUTION: A first transmission signal transmitted by a radio wave of first polarization is used as video encoded data of a basic hierarchy layer and a second transmission signal transmitted by a radio wave of second polarization is used as an extended hierarchy obtained by encoding a video having higher resolution and higher quality with respect to the video of the basic hierarchy, so that the video is encoded and transmitted in a plurality of layers.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
