Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method of a wire which can suppress variations in temperature after cooling by sprinkler cooling.SOLUTION: A cooling method of a wire is a cooling method of the wire wound in a coil form after hot rolling. The cooling method includes a process for cooling the wire while conveying the wire in a cooling zone having a cooling water sprinkler mechanism. The cooling process has a process for cooling the wire while adjusting cooling water amount so that a deviation in temperature distribution becomes small in a ring width direction after the process for cooling the wire and a process for cooling the wire after the adjusted cooling while constantly controlling the cooling water amount. The cooling zone in which the adjusted cooling is performed is determined so that a temperature after the controlled cooling is within a fixed range. The cooling water amount is determined in consideration of a change in heat transfer by overlapping of wires in the adjusted cooling.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
