Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating method to prevent such problems that when a conductive auxiliary substrate is set at an end of a member to be heated so as to suppress an edge effect induced at an end of the member to be heated in a process of induction heating a cylindrical or circular columnar member to be heated by use of a high frequency induction coil, reciprocal transfer of heat is induced in a contact part due to the difference in the temperature elevation speed between the member to be heated and the auxiliary substrate and uniform heating in the member to be heated is not achieved.SOLUTION: A heating method for a member to be heated is provided, in which a high frequency induction coil is disposed in a periphery of a cylindrical or circular columnar member to be heated, and applying a current to the high frequency induction coil to induce an eddy current in the member to be heated to induction-heat the member to be heated. The method includes a step of induction-heating while the member to be heated and an auxiliary substrate 111 having a thermal insulation member 112 are arranged in such a manner that at least one end in the axial direction of the member to be heated is in contact with the thermal insulation member. The high frequency induction coil has an enough length to also induce an eddy current in the auxiliary substrate by applying a current to the high frequency induction coil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
