Indicia are applied to selected portions of reinforced plastics products during a continuous feed pultrusion process so that they underlie the moulded outer cured resin surface of the product. The process comprises bringing together, during a continuous run, wet-out stock comprising reinforcing material as it emerges from a resin impregnating bath (13) and a web (35') comprising porous surfacing material marked with said indicia. The stock and the marked web are compressed between the nip of a pair of rollers (22, 23) thereby causing resin to be exuded through the pores of the surfacing material, and the excess resin forms an outer film of plastics material over the conglutinated stock. The latter is drawn through pultrusion dies (25) and then a zone heating station (26) wherein the resin is cured. The indicia are suitably applied to the web (35') as the process proceeds and before it is conjoined with the wet-out stock, as a hot stamping imprinting station (30) by means of a printing ribbon or foil (33) which advances through the station (30) and a reciprocating engraved printing die (35) operated by a press (30'). The intermittent motion of the web (35') in the station (30) is converted to continuous motion by means of a feed accumulator assembly (60).
