Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain urea from ammonia and carbon dioxide with reduced power consumption at a low cost, by mixing a recovered liquid from a purification step with liquid ammonia for synthetic raw material, raising the pressure of the mixture as a whole and supplying to a synthesis step. CONSTITUTION:A urea liquid discharged from a urea synthesis zone (synthetic step 1 and separation and absorption step 2) is separated by a purification step 3 into urea and a mixture of unreacted ammonium carbamate, ammonia and water. The separated gas is condensed and recovered in the recovery step 4 and the recovered liquid is preliminarily pressurized with a booster pump 11 and mixed in a mixer 13 with liquid ammonia which is preliminarily pressurized with a booster pump 12. The obtained liquid mixture is pressurized 14 and supplied to a synthesis zone. Flow controllers 16, 15 are attached to a recovered liquid line 24 and a liquid ammonia line 22 and the variations of the flow rates of both liquids are minimized in order to prevent extreme variation of the composition of the liquid mixture. Both liquids are boosted in a manner that the pressure at the outlet 25 of the mixer becomes higher than the pressure of the recovered liquid 20 by >=3kg/cm<2>.
