Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS4817115
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1285655 Electro-chemical analysis PERKINELMER CORP 16 Feb 1970 [14 Feb 1969] 7346/70 Heading G1N The invention relates to the use of silicone rubber or like liquid-impermeable adhesive elastomer (a) to seal ion-transfer harries into the cell body and (b) to construct ion-transfer barriers. In Figs.1, 2 (not shown) there is illustrated a silicone rubber seal (21) around the barrier of a cell such as that disclosed Specification 1240028 or a cell with a liquid rear contact Fig.3 (not shown). Where the ion transfer barrier is a polycrystaline compact (perhaps with an epoxy resin binder) the surface fissures may be sealed with silicone rubber Fig.4 (not shown). The barrier may be formed as a thin coating or single crystal layer on a conductive epoxy resin base, and surface sealed with silicone rubber, Figs.5, 5a (not shown). The layer may be POWDERED GLASS to form a glass electrode. Rubbery polyesters and butadiene/acrylonitrile condensation elastomers may be used instead of silicone rubber.
