Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain loose fibers with little impurities using simple devices, in simple procedures, by applying a suitable pressure to flow and destroy the parts bonded with a resin. CONSTITUTION:The old tufted carpet 11 with the backing layer 11a is passed through a pair of rotating rolls 1a and 1b and pressed. The backing layer 11a is made to flow and deform, and destroyed so that the surface tufted yarns are easily peeled. Thus, the yarns 11b are scraped off by the rotary scraper 5, changed into the loose fibers 12 with part of the fibers constituting the backing cloth 11c, and separated from the pressed layer 13.
