Abstract:
Method of manufacturing oligophenyls having high electrical conductivities by electrochemically reacting oligophenyls and/or low- molecular-weight aromatic diazonium salts with an ionisable compound of the type A<+>B<-> as conducting salt, where A<+> is a cation from the group comprising H<+>, alkali-metal ion, alkaline-earth-metal ion, R4N<+>, R4P<+>, NO<+> and NO2<+> and B<-> is an anion from the group comprising SbF6<->, SbCl6<->, AsF4<->, AsF6<->, PF6<->, BF4<->, SO4<2><->, ClO4<->, SO3CF3<->, acetate<->, benzoate<-> and tosylate<->, and R is a hydrogen atom, or an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic radical. This method yields electrically conductive oligophenyls of defined composition having electrical conductivities of over 10<-><4> OMEGA <-><1>cm<-><1>, in particular of over 10<-><2> OMEGA <-><1>cm<-><1>.
