Abstract:
A removable closure palte (14) provides a liquid-tight seal in an elongate floatable offshore hollow tubular column structure (10). The closure plate (14) is designed for easy removal from the column (10) and includes a centrally located pull member (22) removably connected to an upper portion (16) and fixedly connected to a lower portion (18) of the closure plate (14) with the closure plate being removably connected about its periphery to the inside surface of the column (10).
