NEW MATERIAL: A compd. of formula I [where R is alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, etc.; R1 is -A-COOR2,-B-CONR3R4 or substd. alkyl; each of A and B is (substd.) alkylene; R2 is substd. alkyl; R3 is substd. alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, etc., and R4 is substd. alkyl, aryl, a polycyclic hetero ring, etc., or R3 is H or alkyl and R4 is substd. alkyl, cycloalkenyl, etc.].

EXAMPLE: N α-{N-[(E)-2-cyano-2-methoxyiminoacetyl]-glycyl}-L-prolineamide.

USE: A pest controlling agent especially useful as a bactericidal and fungicidal agent.

PROCESS: The compd. of formula I is obtd. by allowing 2-cyano-2- oxyimino-acetate of formula II (where R5 is alkyl) to react with an amine of the formula, R1-NH2 optionally in the presence of a diluent and a base.
