Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC adapter and a power system, which can reduce standby power consumption of the AC adapter used in an information processor, with a simple and low-cost configuration.SOLUTION: An AC adapter that is connected to a docking interface of an information processor in a detachable manner comprises; AC-DC conversion means for converting an AC voltage input through a power plug into a DC voltage and outputting the DC voltage to the information processor through the docking interface; connection detection means for detecting a connection with the information processor through the docking interface; power state detection means for detecting a power state of the information processor through the docking interface; and control means for controlling ON/OFF of the AC-DC conversion means based on a result of detection by the power state detection means.
