Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator where a preload to be applied to an object can be set smaller while a malfunction is avoided.SOLUTION: The actuator brings an object 2 into contact with a stopper 3, and while a motor current of a drive motor 10 is at a set current value, keeps on applying a preload corresponding to the set current value to the object 2 by stopping the drive motor 10 by a brake. While monitoring whether or not the motor current reaches a limit current value greater than the set current value, a control part 14 lowers the motor current to the set current value after the motor current is determined to have reached the limit current value, and stops the drive motor 10 by the brake.
