Abstract:
To provide an additive for geothermal water having favorable silica scale prevention effect.
An additive for geothermal water includes vinyl lactam-based polymers formed by polymerizing N-vinyl lactams such as N-vinylpyrrolidone, N-vinylpiperidone, and N-vinylcaprolactam. The additive has excellent silica scale dispersibility and silica scale-inhibiting effect (silica scale-preventing performance). Thereby, it becomes possible to prevent the silica scale from precipitating on the inner wall of a pipeline or the like for transferring a hot water, and as a result, an efficient operation of geothermal power generation becomes possible.
