This air chuck is devised to install a sensor unit 20 to read magnetic graduations on a casing 1 by respectively installing a pair of jaw members 7a, 7b positioned on both sides of the casing 1 at the ends of a part of parallel piston rods 6a, 6b to extend and contract synchronously in the opposite directions of each other by work of pneumatic pressure, connecting it also to the ends of a pair of guide rods 13a, 13b to synchronously extend and contract in the opposite directions of each other by a rack pinion mechanism and double using this guide rod 13a as a part of a dimension measuring mechanism by forming the magnetic graduations on a side surface of the one guide rod 13b.
