To reduce variation of a room temperature and to improve comfortableness, in an air conditioner having a two-path indoor heat exchanger.
In an air conditioner wherein an indoor heat exchanger making up a refrigerating cycle is made to have a two-path structure and a refrigerant is made to circulate through this indoor heat exchanger so as to conduct a room temperature control, a solenoid valve 10 is disposed on the refrigerant input side of one path. In the room temperature control of the air conditioner, an indoor machine control part 11 closes the solenoid valve 10 in the case when the operation of a compressor 1 is stopped or when an outdoor air temperature transferred from an outdoor machine control part 12 is a prescribed value or above and a value (an operating time at the lowest frequency of the compressor 1) counted by a lowest operation integrating timer part 12c becomes a prescribed one. In the case when an outdoor load is large (the outdoor air temperature is high) in a heating operation, the solenoid valve 10 is closed to make the refrigerant run only through one path. Thereby an indoor heat exchange capacity is lowered and the variation of a room temperature is reduced.
