Title:
TERMINAL CAP FOR COVERED CONDUCTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3098444
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability for waterproofing the terminal of a covered conductor.
SOLUTION: A plurality of ring-shaped projections 13 are formed on the inner peripheral surface of a bottomed cylinder 12 at intervals along the direction of the axis of the cylinder. The ring-shaped projections 13 get smaller in bore so that the deeper one has a smaller bore. A terminal cap is made of elastic rubber or plastics. When the terminal cap 11 is put over the terminal of a covered conductor 2, either of the projections 13 undergoes elastic deformation and makes intimate contact with the outer peripheral surface of the covered conductor 2. Therefore, the terminal cap 11 is simultaneously secured to the covered conductor 2 and prevents entrance of water. This can be achieved simply by putting the terminal cap over the wire terminal, without the need for vinyl tape, etc. The terminal cap can be used also for covered conductors of different outside diameters within the range of the bore of the projection 13.
