Abstract:
To provide an alligator type cross member improved in strength.SOLUTION: An alligator type cross member 1 comprises: an upper member 2 stretched between side rails 7 of a vehicle; a lower member 3 disposed below the upper member 2 and joined to the upper member 2; and a reinforcement member 5 in a flat plate form. The lower member 3 has fixture portions 3a fixed to respective side rails 7. The reinforcement member 5 is joined to the fixture portions 3a and partially reinforces the fixture portions 3a. Since the fixture portions 3a of the lower member 3 are partially reinforced by the reinforcing member 5, the strength of the cross member 1 is enhanced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
