Title:
ALONGSIDE PIER DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006182332
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve the problem wherein in the conventional method, it becomes hard to control only by steering of a leading propeller of a hull when slowing down, it requires a lot of guide boats and labor cost as a large-sized hull when coming into harbor or leaving harbor, and there is a weak point in turning around to prevent marine accident between vessels and in crosswind of a hull during heavy gale.

The pipe having a pump device on its center is horizontally provided on the lower position than the water level of the hull perpendicularly with respect to the right and left broadsides at the front and rear parts of the hull. The both tip ends of the pipe is connected to a circular hole opened at the right and left broadsides of the hull, and an opening/closing valve is provided at the inner side broadside of the circular hole. When the propeller of the pump device at the front part is rotated to the right, the suction force of the water entered the right pipe of the right broadside port intends to change the direction to the right by a draining force coming out from the left broadside port of the left pipe. When the propeller of the pump device at the front part is rotated to the left, the suction force of the water entered the left pipe of the left broadside port intends to change the direction to the left by the draining force coming out from the right broadside port of the right pipe. Coming alongside the pier and leaving the pier can be performed by operating the pump device at the front and rear parts to the same direction to laterally move the hull in parallel. The turnaround of the hull can be easily performed by operating the pump device at the front and left parts to the reverse direction. The alongside pier device has synergy effect of the suction force and the draining force of the pump.
