Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prolong the service life of an electrode and to attain the improvement of the productive efficiency and the stabilization of the quality by applying nickel base plating to the surface of an aluminum alloy sheet.

CONSTITUTION: Plating using nickel as an essential constituting component is applied to the face at least opposite to an electrode in an aluminum allay sheet. As for the weight in the nickel base plating, it is preferably executed in the range of 1 to 100g/m2 by the weight of nickel in the plating. In this way, the service life of the electrode at the time of continuous spot welding is remarkably improved, the frequency of the maintenance and exchange of the electrode in a producing field is reduced and its productive efficiency is improved as well as its quality in the weld zone is stabilized.
