To provide an amplifier which is designed to generate rectangular voltage signals through soft switching under a capacitive load (Cp).
The amplifier has a half bridge structure, which is made of two switches (M1 and M2) connected between a supply terminal (VS) and a reference terminal (GND) and in which the middle point is connected to the capacitive load, and a soft switching circuit having energy-recovering capability. In order to limit the electrical transmission loss in the amplifier, the soft switching circuit having the energy-recovering capability does not have active parts, such as a diode or a transistor. The amplifier is formed only by an inductive element (L2), that is serially connected to a capacitive element (C2) of the terminals of the capacitive load. To advantageously limit the electrical transmission loss of the amplifier, the inductive element is given a saturable inductor.
