Title:
ANHYDROUS PRODUCT CRYSTAL PRODUCED BY HEATING OF BIPHENYLTETRACARBOXYLIC ACID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005314297
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide anhydrous product crystals produced by heating of biphenyltetracarboxylic acid, having a few palladium content as a raw material for aromatic polyimide resins excellent in an insulating property and scarcely containing impurity.

The anhydrous product crystals produced by heating of biphenyltetracarboxylic acid have ≤0.2 ppm palladium content. The anhydrous product crystals produced by heating of biphenyltetracarboxylic acid are obtained by heating and melting an anhydrous product produced by heating of biphenyltetracarboxylic acid, evaporating the melted anhydrous product at ≥307°C and ≤330°C under reduced pressure while keeping the oxygen concentration in the system to ≤10 ppm and cooling and crystallizing vapor of the resultant high-purity biphenyltetracarboxylic acid dianhydride.
