Abstract:

To elucidate a compound originated from Hippophate rhamnoides L, and having an anti-inflammatory effect, and also develop a new use of the compound.

This nitrogen monoxide production inhibitor and radical-eliminating agent contains a triterpene derivative expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, R1, R2 and R3 are each simultaneously or independently hydroxy, H, a 1-C alkyl or an alkyl ether], or its pharmacologically acceptable salts as active ingredients.
