Abstract:

To provide an adiposity inhibitor and anti-obesity agent, both of which can be daily and confidently taken in; a foodstuff additive containing the adiposity inhibitor; and a foodstuff and a pet food prepared by compounding them.

Each of the adiposity inhibitor, the anti-obesity agent, the food additive, and the food and pet food contains lignans as effective components. An especially most suitable lignan is secoisolariciresinol diglycoside, and in addition, lignans of matairesinol, pinoresinol, isolariciresinol, etc., are also contained.
