To prepare an antiaging agent, comprising one or more extracts from specific plants as active ingredients, capable of manifesting promoting actions on the production of collagen and preventing skin from aging and useful especially as a promoter for the production of the collagen and a cosmetic for preventing the aging.
This antiaging agent comprises one or more selected from among extracts obtained from plants Sambiloto (botanical name: Andrographis panicurata) and Kemukus (botanical name: Piper cubeba) as active ingredients therein. The two species of plants grow in a dry grassland, a pasture, etc., of Indonesia. The amount of the blended extracts is 0.0005-20.0wt.% preferably 0.001-10.0wt.% expressed in terms of a dry substance in the total amount of a preparation for external use. The antiaging agent is capable of preventing the skin from aging and maintaining a state of the youthful and healthy skin. The antiaging agent can be used as a basic cosmetic, a makeup cosmetic, a toiletry product, etc.
