PURPOSE: The titled apparatus, having pressing tools for aligning cocoons, etc. at positions just above the former half step and the final step of a conveyor in the first step and a position just above the front step of a conveyor in the second step respectively, and most suitable for sorting operations of bad cocoons.
CONSTITUTION: Separated two endless belts 3 and 4 are oppositely provided at a suitable tilting angle, and a synchronously revolving conveyor 1 in the first step and a conveyor 2, synchronously revolving at a higher speed than the conveyor 1 in the second step, and having titled endless belts 10 and 11 are provided in series. Pressing tools 8 and 9 for aligning cocoons, etc. are provided at positions just above the former half step and the final step of the conveyor 1 in the first step, and a pressing tool 22 is provided at a position just above the front step of the conveyor 2 in the second step. Materials to be conveyed, e.g. cocoons, can be conveyed to a desired place at a given interval, and the internal staining of the cocoons can be sensed by soft X-rays and sorted.
