To provide an apparatus for manufacturing an optical film used for preparing a protective film for a polarizing sheet used for various displaying apparatuses such as a liquid crystal displaying apparatus (LCD) and an organic EL (electroluminescence) display, in more detail, the protective film for the polarizing sheet with a brightness improving function, the polarizing plate equipped with a film in which the brightness improving function and a polarizing sheet protective function are integrated on at least one face, and the liquid crystal displaying apparatus using it.
The apparatus for manufacturing the optical film by a solution casting film manufacturing method casts a dope comprising a thermoplastic resin, an organic solvent and indefinite particles on a substrate through a manifold part and a slit part. In this apparatus, the cross-sectional area at an arbitrary place of the manifold part to the cross-sectional area of the inlet of the manifold of a casting die is 0.1-300% of the cross-sectional area of the inlet of the manifold part over the whole length of the manifold part.
