To provide an apparatus and method for continuous automatic cleaning of a drug container.
This apparatus comprises a transfer mechanism I, a cleaning mechanism II, a transport mechanism III, and a control mechanism IV. A drug container having an opening for putting in or taking out a drug and formed at or at the vicinity of the corner part or peripheral part of the upper side is conveyed with a conveyor via the transfer mechanism I to the cleaning mechanism II, where the drug container in such a state that the opening is positioned at the lower side of the upper plane and that the container is inclined in the lower direction is subjected to removal of a residual drug or residual foreign matters, to cleaning of the inside and outside of the container, and to removal of a cleaning liquid. Then, the container is transported via the transport mechanism IV to the next step (e.g. a filling step). The cleaning method uses the apparatus. The apparatus has a simple construction, facilitating production, operation control, and maintenance/control. The method enables a large number of used or unused drug containers to be continuously and automatically cleaned safely in a short time.
