To provide an apparatus for recovering zinc with which high quality zinc having reduced chlorine content, is efficiently recovered from dust containing zinc oxide.
The apparatus for recovering zinc includes; a furnace body 7, in which dust D and a reducing agent, are received and the zinc is gasified by heat-treating under reducing atmosphere; a secondary combustion chamber 9, in which by contacting the exhaust gas G containing zinc exhausted from the furnace body 7 with a dechlorinating agent, the chlorine in the exhaust gas is removed; and a zinc-recovering part 27, in which the exhaust gas G from which chlorine is removed with the secondary combustion chamber 9, is cooled and the gasified zinc is solidified and recovered. According to such constitution, since the dechlorinating agent E is contacted with the exhaust gas G to remove chlorine, a simple constitution is obtained in comparison with the conventional system for removing the chlorine with a wet process, so as to efficiently recover the zinc.
