Abstract:

To provide a new aromatic diamine useful as a raw material of a condensation polymer having high heat resistance.

This new aromatic diamine is represented by general formula (1) [wherein Z is a carboxy group or an active ester group of general formula (2); and Ar is a group selected from the groups of formula (3)]. In the formula (2), R is a pyridyl, quinolyl, aromatic or benzotriazole group. Hydrogen atoms on the benzene rings in the groups of formula (3) may be replaced with at least one selected from the group consisting of an alkyl, aromatic, ether, hydroxy, fluorine and trifluoromethyl group.
