Abstract:
To provide an efficient article sorting mechanism with a wide range of motion, and an article sorting device using the same.SOLUTION: An article sorting device 1 includes a rectangular-shaped enclosure 5. Inside the enclosure 5, there are provided first and second drive rollers 6, 7 rotatably supported in a horizontal state, one first sphere 8 rotatable freely by 360° which contacts diagonally upper surfaces of the two drive rollers 6, 7 without slipping, and two second spheres 9 rotatable freely by 360° which contact a diagonally upper surface of the first sphere 8 without slipping. Rotation axes of the first and second drive rollers 6, 7 are orthogonal to each other. A top plate of the enclosure 5 has an opening 5a to allow an upper part of the second sphere 9 to protrude. A rotational force of the first drive roller 6 is transmitted to the first sphere 8, and a rotational force of the first sphere 8 is further transmitted to the two second spheres 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
