PURPOSE: To ensure the flow of water in the direction of thickness through an artificial fishing bank in use by increasing the water-passability of an artificial fishing bank material made of continuous filaments of a thermoplastic synthetic polymer.

CONSTITUTION: The artificial fishing bank material 1 to be used in the sea in vertical state is composed of a matted net composed of a number of continuous filaments 2, 2 of a thermoplastic synthetic polymer having a diameter of 0.1-1.5mm and bonded with each other at the crossing points. The matted net has an areal density of 600-2,500g/m2, an apparent thickness of 0.5-5cm and a water-permeability coefficient of about ≥3cm/sec in the direction of thickness. Since the fishing bank material has high toughness and durability and proper resistance and passability to tidal current, the stagnation of water in the fishing bank 20 is prevented, a growing space for algae and shellfish is ensured and the bank gives a shadow and shelter for small fish, etc.
