The artificial nail (1) includes a base (2) and an artificial nail body (3) joined onto the base (2), wherein the base (2) is made of a metallic material or ceramic material and wherein the artificial nail body (3) is formed using at least one kind selected from the group consisting of ceramic materials, metallic materials, and synthetic resin materials. The manufacturing method of the artificial nail includes a step of forming the base (2) with the metallic material or the ceramic material and a step of forming the artificial nail body (3) with at least one kind selected from the group consisting of the ceramic materials, metallic materials, and synthetic resin materials. Further, this artificial nail is used by applying a first adhesive and a second adhesive in this order to the whole or part of the natural nail and by attaching the artificial nail (1) on the second adhesive.
