Abstract:
To provide an artificial nail, which fits a human nail and is easy to stow away, and usage thereof.
The artificial nail 1 composed of a polyurethane shape-memory polymer is heated to a temperature higher than a specified transition temperature by heat of hot water or the like, so that a shape of the nail can be changed freely. And the shape of the artificial nail 1 is changed to fit the surface of the human nail 2. Then, the artificial nail 1 is cooled to a temperature not higher than the transition temperature by water or the like to retain the changed shape. And the artificial nail 1 retaining the shape is attached to the surface of the human nail 2 by a double-coated tape.
