Abstract:

To stably obtain an artificial slate having satisfactory basic performance, excellent in designability and having high-grade appearance.

Granular natural stones comprising mineral grains different from one another in hue are dispersed in a matrix and faces of the granular natural stones are formed in a face to be designed to obtain the objective artificial slate. The matrix is formed from a matrix material containing a matrix resin and a filler, the total surface area of the faces of the granular natural stones is 30-90% of the entire surface area of the face of the artificial slate to be designed and ≥1/3 of the faces of the granular natural stones satisfy the relation of 1.2≤A/B≤10 between the length [A (mm)] of the maximum diameter of the faces of the granular natural stones and the length [B (mm)] of the maximum diameter of the mineral grains.
