Abstract:
To provide an asphalt pavement structure that can be manufactured by a simple method, includes a thin layer, and has water permeability and low noise properties similar to those of a conventional two-layer porous pavement.SOLUTION: An asphalt pavement structure comprises a roadbed, a base layer, and a surface layer. The roadbed and base layer are the same as general pavement. The surface layer has a thin porous structure and is 20 to 30 mm thick. The surface layer consists of a small particle-sized aggregate, having a maximum particle size of 5 mm or less, and asphalt. The design porosity is approximately 18%. Further, using the simple groove forming method, grooves are extended in the longitudinal direction of the pavement on the surface layer, and a plurality of grooves are arranged side by side. The width of the grooves is 5 to 15 mm. The depth of the grooves is 5 to 15 mm. The spacing between the grooves is 30 to 60 mm. The porous porosity is less than 10% between the grooves and 14 to 22% below the grooves. Based on the results of verification testing, the water permeability and low noise properties are equivalent to that of a conventional two-layer porous pavement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
