PURPOSE: To provide an automatic door latch composed of an usual door locking function and a bar metal tool in the same structural base which is simultaneously and automatically locked to closely shut the door so as not to be opened even if one tries to unlock it from the outside, in a single motion to open or close the door with a lever handle when a user enters in one of various kinds of houses.

CONSTITUTION: A latch body 1 is fixed on a opening and closing door 64 and a receiver metal tool 62 is fixed on the indoor surface of the edge frame 65 of the entrance in parallel with the latch body. Even if a latch 15 and the hooking part 19 have been inserted in a receiver metal tool 62, the door can be freely opened with a lever handle from both inside and outside of the room, in an usual opening and closing case of the door. When one pulls a lever handle 46 and a pulling lever 49 to close the door after he has opened the door with the usual lever handle and entered into time room, the hooking part 19 is further inserted in the receiver metal tool 62 and fixed due to the locking action thereof on getting over the receiver metal tool and the receiver impulse wall 63 and hence the door is closely shut. When going out the pulling lever 49 is pushed in to unlock the door, then the latch 15 becomes movable and the hooking part 19 can get over the receiver impulse wall 63 and get out thereof and then the door is opened.
