PURPOSE: To provide an automatically opening and closing umbrella operated by a single hand even in rainy weather by switching the rotation clockwise or anticlockwise with a switch of a switch circuit built in the handle of the umbrella.
CONSTITUTION: When this umbrella 10 is to be opened, an open switch SW is turned on to close the contact point to rotate a motor 21 clockwise. A screw shaft 4 is rotated interlocking to the motor 21 to push a sliding member 5 screwed to the screw shaft 4 upward along with the shaft 1 to open a first rib 2 and a second rib 3. The opening motion is completed by turning the contact point switch off to stop the motor 21 via a switch circuit 23. When the umbrella 10 is to be closed, another contact point is closed by turning a close switch SW on to rotate the motor anticlockwise. The screw shaft 4 is rotated interlocking to the motor 21 to push the sliding member 5 screwed to the screw shaft 4 downward along with the shaft 1 to close the first rib 2 and the second rib 3. When the switch SW is turned off, the another contact point is opened to complete the closing motion of the motor 21 via the switch circuit 23.
