To provide an automatic paper feeding device, in which if set paper exits or not is securely detected in simple constitution, and in which action failure due to detection error of final paper is prevented.
This automatic paper feeding device is provided with a tray 40 for paper D to be set, a set paper detecting means 50, and a paper feeding means 3. The set paper detecting means 50 is composed of a first actuator 51 disposed along a wall surface 41 on the tip side of the tray 40, of which one end part is journalled to be movable toward the wall surface 41, a second actuator 52 abutted on the first actuator 51, and disposed to face the actuator 51 through a paper carrying passage 9 to spring in the carrying direction for paper D in accordance with movement of the first actuator 51, and a paper detecting sensor 53 controlled by the second actuator 52 to detect if paper D exists on the tray 40 or not.
