PURPOSE: To improve vibration-proofing effect by engaging a switch arm with the operating part of a driving switch and the guide groove parts of a motion gear and turning the driving switch on and off along the guide grooves.

CONSTITUTION: In the automatic player provided with an automatic playing mechanism which automatically operates a tone arm, a solenoid 29 operated by an operating knob, a starting arm 25 interlocked to the solenoid 29, and a starting clutch 20 detained to the starting arm 25 are provided and a motion gear 8 having guide grooves 8e, 8f and an intermittently toothed part 8a, and a driving switch 23 for a motor 53 are mounted to a chassis 3. A switch arm 22 is so arranged as to be engaged with the operating part of a driving switch 23 and the guide groove parts of the motion gear 8 and to turn the driving switch 23 on and off along the guide grooves 8e, 8f.
