PURPOSE: To reconstitute a line into a two-line type transmission line, through the discrimination of presence/absence of a line failure and trouble-shooting of the failure, by calling out a terminal from a signal source and measuring the signal level at the signal source and at the receiving end of the terminal.
CONSTITUTION: A signal source 1 is connected to a transmission circuit automatic switching device 3 for signal source via a two-line transmission line 2 and the device 3 is connected to a transmission automatic switching device 5 for a terminal via a 3-line transmission line 4. Each device 5 is connected to terminals 7∼10 via a two-line transmission line 6. Terminals 7, 8 and 9 are sequentially called out from the signal source 1 and in the process that a response from the terminal is returned, the signal level of the signal source and the receiving end of each terminal is measured, the failed parts of the line are troubleshooted to constitute the 2-line transmission line through the use of other two lines excluding the defective line.
