Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission and a method of controlling the automatic transmission which can rapidly generate a hydraulic pressure during starting of a vane type electric oil pump.SOLUTION: An automatic transmission 1 includes a second valve 7, a mechanical oil pump 2, an electric oil pump 3, and a control valve unit 10. A delivery oil passage 22 of the electric oil pump 3 is connected with a back pressure port 3b of the electric oil pump 3, and oil can be supplied to the control valve unit 10 from the delivery oil passage 22 through the second valve 7, and the electric oil pump 3 is driven in a state in which the oil is not supplied to the control valve unit 10 from the delivery oil passage 22 through the second valve 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
